This might sound disgusting but it works, according to one of my major bait distributors. If you are looking to feed your pond fish economically:
Buy a raw chicken from your grocery store, suspend it in a cage over your pond from a tree limb or stand so animals can not get to it. When the flies lay their eggs in the chicken it will hatch small maggots which eventually fall off into the water and feed the fish. For only a few bucks your fish will be fed naturally without having to purchase expensive feeder fish or pond food. Do you have a Pond and would like to purchase fish that will grow and NOT be eaten by the fish already in your pond. This happens more than you think when people order fish through the internet. Usually they get small fingerlings, too small too defend themselves from the predators already in your ponds. At the Bait Barn we supply Golf Courses, Clubs, Corporations and private owners with the healthiest, liveliest fish in Indiana. These fish are raised in an Artesian spring from birth. Guaranteed to be disease free!
Small and Large Mouth Bass, Black Crappie, Hybrid BlueGill, Albino and Channel Catfish.
Order Over the Phone and be prepared to Pick UP 100 or more fish for your Pond on a Thursday's.
Grass Carp must be delivered by The Bait Barn Personnel by Indiana State Law.
If you order Grass Carp on line usually they are too small and will be eaten by the Bass and Catfish in your Pond.
